The WWE Network will be premiering what could possibly become its most popular original series this Thursday night titled, WWE Legends House.

The WWE may be planning to can the next season in the coming months as well, but nothing has been confirmed just yet. The first look of this series premiered way back in February during the WWE Network unveiling.

IPL 7: More than 100,000 tickets sold

Mumbai, Apr 9: Over 100,000 tickets have been sold so far for the seventh edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL 7) that begins in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on April 16.  Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah will host 20 matches in the first phase of IPL 7 from April 16 to 30. 

 

The sale of tickets, both online and box office, have started and have received good response, according to the BCCI. "The ticket sales speak for themselves. The 100,000th ticket was sold today, a mere six days since online sales commenced. 12,500 tickets were purchased yesterday - on the first day of the box-office and outlet sales," BCCI secretary Sanjay Patel said in a media release yesterday.

WWE legend Ultimate Warrior passes away

In a rude shock to the WWE universe, news broke that the latest and much deserved inductee to the Hall of Fame class of 2014, The Ultimate Warrior is no more.

A press statement from the company said: “WWE is shocked and deeply saddened to learn of the passing of one of the most iconic WWE Superstars ever, The Ultimate Warrior.”

Warrior began his WWE career in 1987 and quickly went on to become one of the biggest stars in WWE history. Warrior became WWE Champion at WrestleMania VI, defeating Hulk Hogan in an epic encounter.

MS Dhoni named captain of ICC World T20 team

Dubai: His side may have lost in the final but Mahendra Singh Dhoni was today named captain of the 2014 ICC World Team of the Tournament that figures four Indians, including star batsman Virat Kohli.

Opener Rohit Sharma and Ravichandran Ashwin are the other two Indian players who feature in the team that was announced by the ICC.

The stage is set for WrestleMania XXX

The biggest and grandest event from World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) is here with a bang. This time around WrestleMania XXX is taking place at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome on Sunday in New Orleans.

Estimates of 70,000 people are expected to attend the main event on Sunday, while 125,000 take in all the events surrounding the wrestling spectacle. The ‘Super Bowl of Wrestling’ will be hosted by the WWE legend Hulk Hogan and there are also rumors doing rounds of Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and Stone Cold Steve Austin being a part of the mega event.

World T20: India will reach final if there is no play on Friday

Mirpur: With the weather forecast for Friday predicting another round of heavy rainfall, India will be the lucky team if it eventually pours as they would then automatically advance to the final of the ICC World T20. 

As per the weather forecast in Dhaka, around 70 percent chance of rain is predicted and it could again play spoilsport during the second semi-final between India and South Africa. 

As per the playing conditions, even if a five-over per-side match is not possible, the team that is ranked higher in their respective group will be declared winner of the contest.

Thunderstorm forecast during India's WT20 semi-final against SA

With the weather playing a spoilsport during Thursday's first ICC World T20 semi-final clash between Sri Lanka and the West Indies in Mirpur, cricket lovers would expect a rain-free day during the second semi-final between India and South Africa to be played at the same venue on Friday.\

However, as per the latest weather forecast in Mirpur, the weathermen are predicting the possibility of a strong thunderstorm in the evening, with 89 per cent humidity and 60 per cent cloud cover.

 

A dominant Sri Lanka on Thursday made it to the final for the third time knocking out defending champions West Indies by 27 runs via the Duckworth Lewis method after hail and thundershowers stopped proceedings at the Shere Bangla National Cricket Stadium.
