AsiaSat 7 replaces the ageing AsiaSat 3S today
In early October 2010, Asian satellite service provider, AsiaSat, and
International Launch Services (ILS) had announced a contract for the
launch of the AsiaSat 7 satellite on an ILS Proton.
AsiaSat 7 was configured as a replacement satellite for AsiaSat 3S, one of AsiaSat‘s flagship satellites, operating at the orbital location of 105.5°E. AsiaSat 7 will carry 28 C-band and 17 Ku-band transponders, and a Ka-band payload.

As the country gears itself for what is being called the ‘Election of
the Century’ by many existing news channels, another new News channel is
set to make space for itself in Andhra Pradesh. Backed by
industrialist Jayaram Chigrupati, Express TV will see the light of the
day on 31 March that coincides with the Telugu New Year.
With 280 employees on board, the channel will have Bhaskar Nemani as the editorial head and Sai Ramakrishna as the business head. Headquartered in Hyderabad, the channel will operate out of Vijayawada, Vishakhapatnam, Tirupati and Warangal with two journalists and two camerapersons in each office. With its launch coinciding with the election season, the channel is looking at providing detailed election coverage through its election related programmes along with Nemani, who will be anchoring the primetime news at 9:00 pm.

Search for MH370: Thai satellite spots 300 objects in Indian Ocean
A Thai satellite has detected about 300 objects floating in the
Indian Ocean near the search area for the missing Malaysia Airlines
jetliner.
Anond Snidvongs, director of Thailand's space technology development agency, said Thursday the images showed "300 objects of various sizes" in the southern Indian Ocean about 2,700 kilometers (1,675 miles) southwest of Perth.
He says the images were taken by the Thaichote satellite on Monday, took two days to process and were relayed to Malaysian authorities on Wednesday.

area where a French satellite on Sunday spotted 122 objects.
It remains uncertain whether the objects are from Malaysia Airlines Flight 370, which disappeared March 8 with 239 people aboard.
